Today, garden Amphora is a collective term for various garden vessels, but originally amphorae were used to describe Greek two-handled clay vessels. An amphora is a versatile pitcher with a wide belly and a narrow neck. Amphorae originally have two opposite handles, which should facilitate the carrying of the partly massively built vessels. The carrying handles disappeared in the course of further development, so that now vessels with and without handles were produced. Clay, Bronze, silver or Gold formed the basis of production. Depending on the historical classification, amphorae play different roles and reflect the course of history. For this reason, they are also a valuable tool for archaeologists. These differed in different forms, peculiarities, locations and dates.
